Papertrey Ink Blog Hop
It's the 25th of January, which means it's time for Papertrey Ink's monthly blog hop. As I mentioned in a previous post and in keeping with my goal this year to participate in more Make It Mondays and Blog Hops, I am finally joining in my first blog hop! It's about time!
The Challenge this month was to first pick your favorite Papertrey project from 2011. Then are asked to take it a step further and create a second card inspired by our first card. The details can be found on Nichole's blog.
So for my favorite card, I chose a card I posted in November here.
The reason I picked this card, is because I've just always thought this card was pretty. I love the layout with the edger die used along the bottom, and the pretty papers and colors. I like the doily, and I really like that seam binding ribbon! This was my first attempt at using seam binding ribbon.
So, for my inspired by card, this is what I came up with:
I kept the same layout, just using a different Edger die along the bottom. I also just had to use my new Limitless Layers Ovals, instead of the doily, and used a lighter shade of Seam Binding to match the patterned papers. I still like the original better, but this was definitely a lot of fun!
Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog! Now I am off to hop around! I can't wait to see the amazing creations you Papertrey fans came up with!
Supplies:
Paper: Stamper's Select, Smokey Shadow, Echo Park (Yours Truly), and Wassaw (shimmer for key)
Stamps: Lock and Key
Dies: Edgers #3, Limitless Layers Ovals 2.25, Lock and Key
Ink: Smokey Shadow
Other: Martha Stewart Pearls, Smokey Shadow button, Seam Binding Ribbon
Have a Crafty Day!

Both are gorgeous Jessica. Love teh vintage vibe of the second card.
Both are pretty and lovely cards. I'm especially partial to your new version. Love the key, colors and details!
Both are gorgeous. However I love the colors in the second card. The ribbon for it too is just so beautiful. Very different. Love all the new release products in the card too.
These cards are both so pretty. I think I am drawn more to the second one--I love pink and grey together, and I'm in love with those keys (although I have yet to use mine....) Congrats on your first blog hop.
That is indeed a lovely layout--no wonder you chose it! I love the elegant mix of pink and grey. Might have to CASE this one if you don't mind!
So pretty. I really like both of them, its hard to choose! I really like how you used the edger on the PP - it really draws your eye to the center of the card with all the fun stuff! :-)
Love them both , I think I like your first one best because of the background paper, and the edgers die, I have the other die. Beautiful
Theyre both so elegant love the colors and the layout!
Great cards. The first is so pretty and elegant. The second one reminds me of a very sophisticated occasion - it would be great for a wedding celebration.
Like them both, but I love the second. I like the vintagey look.
The first one is great, but ooooo I really like the new and improved version, loving that key in the ovals, the colors, and those shiny black pearls!
Both your cards are beautiful! I like the edging at the bottom of them.
both cards are very elegantand beautiful.
Beautiful cards. I especially like your key layered onto the new oval dies - it fits perfectly.
SO lovely! I love how you used the Edgers dies on both cards, and the Limitless Layers Oval really looks wonderful (wishing now I'd bought that one)! Wonderful cards!
I can see why you chose this 2011 project-so beautiful! The 2012 edition is just as eye catching. I have just received my Jan. PTI shipment-I can hardly wait to use the LL Ovals! Great job! :-)
